Description of the Saint Benedict Medal

The St Benedict Medal is a helpful spiritual experience that can be ours if we take the time to study the series of inscriptions and images found on both sides of the medal.
The lessons found there can be reflected upon again and again to bring true peace of mind and heart into our lives as we struggle to overcome the weaknesses of our human nature.
We also realise that our human condition is not perfect, but that with God’s help and the intercession of the saints (see St Cajetan), our condition can be improved.
On one side of the medal is an image of St Benedict holding a cross in his right hand and the Holy Rule in his left. On one side of the image is a chalice, on the other a raven, and above the chalice and the raven are the words “Crux Sancti Patris Benedicti” (Cross of the Holy Father Benedict).
At the edge of the medal is the legend: “Ejus in obitu nro praesentia muniamur” (May he be strengthened by his presence in our death). On the reverse of the medal there is a cross with the initials of the words: “Crux Sacra Sit Mihi Lux” (The Holy Cross is my light), written downwards on the vertical bar.

The initials of the words “Non Draco Sit Mihi Dux” (Do not let the dragon be my guide) in the horizontal bar; and the initials of “Crux Sancti Patris Benedicti” in the corners of the cross. Around the edge are the initials of Dichich: “Vade Retro Satana, Nunquam Suade Mihi Vana – Sunt Mala Quae Libas, Ipse Venena Bibas” (Go away, Satan, do not suggest your vanities to me – evil is what you do most, drink your own poison).
At the top of the cross there is usually the word Pax (peace) or the monogram I H S (Jesus). The medal just described is the so-called Jubilee medal, first made in 1880 to commemorate the fourteenth centenary of the birth of Saint Benedict. Learn all the secrets of this medal in the video below.
The ordinary medal of St Benedict generally differs from the above in the omission of the words “Ejus in obitu, etc.” and in some minor details. The regular wearer of the Jubilee Medal can obtain all the indulgences associated with the ordinary medal and, in addition, all the indulgences that can be obtained by visiting the Basilica, Crypt and Tower of St. Benedict at Monte Cassino.
Use of the medal of St. Benedict against witchcraft

The Medal of St Benedict is widely used in the Catholic religion and also to perform witchcraft, the Medal of St Benedict witchcraft is used for health, prosperity, money and many other things.
There is no particular prescribed way of wearing or using the St Benedict Medal. It can be worn on a chain around the neck, attached to a rosary, carried in a pocket or purse, or kept in the car or at home. The medal is often placed on the foundations of houses and buildings, on the walls of barns and sheds, or in the workplace.

The purpose of wearing the medal in any of the above ways is to invoke God’s blessing and protection upon us, wherever we are, through the intercession of St Benedict.
Through conscious and devout use of the medal, it becomes a constant silent prayer and a reminder of our dignity as followers of Christ (See: What is the Teaching of Christ).
The medal is a prayer of exorcism against Satan (see Prayer to St Michael the Archangel to Undo Witchcraft), a prayer for strength in times of temptation, a prayer for peace among ourselves and among the nations of the world.
A prayer for the Cross of Christ to be our light and our guide, a prayer for the rejection of all that is evil, a prayer of petition that we may walk with Christian courage in the ways of God, with the Gospel as our guide, as the Holy Spirit recommends to us.
