The Virgin of God, in her fervent love for Venezuela, appeared to an Indian known as Cacique Coromoto, and since then, for more than three hundred years, Venezuelans have prayed to the Virgin of Coromoto to protect and care for them.

Since the Virgin was presented to the Cacique Coromoto, her devotion began because she touched his heart, which allowed the natives to receive the baptism to enter heaven. You who have accompanied the birth and development of our patriotic history, we come before you to prostrate ourselves at your feet, Holy Mother, to ask for your indulgence so that, with your grace and infinite love, this people may be consecrated as a worthy nation deserving of your holy blessing.
Mother, we ask you to place our sufferings next to your heart and show us the way so that we do not lose our way and so that the hearts of Venezuelans, whether born in this country or not, may unite in a single heartbeat and find peace, freedom and family unity as true brothers.
Teach us, Virgin of Coromoto, to fill our hearts with infinite love for God, as you do, to be worthy children. We ask you to protect us as your humble people.
