All of us who go to the Christian Church out of conviction know that we must keep the rules of the Church in order to live a full religion and to honour the name of God, who is our greatest leader.

I recommend our article What is the Teaching of Christ According to the Holy Scriptures to support this reading.

Everything in life is governed by rules and precepts that we must follow.

From the moment we are born, we begin to discover the first rules in our home.

As we begin our education, we discover that not only are we subject to rules at home, but we must follow them there as well.

If you want to play sport, let me tell you that it is full of rules!

There is no place where you go that does not have its own rules.

The Church is no exception.

Even though it is a place where we build ourselves up and nourish our spirituality, we also find there well-established rules.

And that’s fine with me, because norms, rules or commandments, whatever you want to call them, shape people’s character.

In the case of the rules of the Church, they help us to grow spiritually and to have a better relationship with God.

Let us know the rules of the church.

The purpose of most churches is their growth, for it is through churches that the kingdom of God is extended.

Churches are not places of recreation, they are places of spiritual refreshment.

And that should be its main purpose, to give people so much comfort that they never want to leave.

But the church is not a structure, nor is it just the pastor or the leaders.

The Church is all of us, the Body of Christ. Look at what it means to be the body of Christ.

And as such, we are all responsible, not only to maintain it, but to make it grow.

To do this, we need to follow certain rules of the Church.

Emphasise the life of faith

We must be sustained first and foremost by our faith.

It must be the driving force and sustenance of every day of your life.

The Bible says that “faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen”.

And it is by it that we must live our lives.

Belief in God and the Holy Spirit

We know that God is the Creator of all things, including ourselves.

And the Holy Spirit is our comforter here, the one Jesus left us with before he went away.

God does not give the guidelines for our lives, and the Holy Spirit is the one who encourages us to follow them.

Serve unconditionally and unselfishly.

We are to serve in the love of Christ.

This means trying to do what he taught us through his witness.

To be supportive and fair to our neighbour.

Without distinction, because just as the professional is your neighbour, so is the beggar.

Nourish our spiritual growth

We must constantly train ourselves in the Word, in prayer and in fasting.

If we do not develop our character, we will always be like babes in arms.

A life of prayer

precptos de la iglesia-2

We must persevere in prayer because it is prayer that keeps our communion with God alive.

It is our way of worshipping the Lord intimately.

The Bible says in Acts 1:14 that we are to persevere in prayer (you have heard it said, “He who perseveres shall attain”).

And that we should do it with one accord!

The time of prayer in the Church is of the utmost importance because it is there that we worship the Lord with one accord.

Why is prayer one of the commandments of the Church?

Prayer is a way of serving God.

It is also a command of God (Philippians 4:6).

Jesus prayed with his disciples, so why not follow his example?

Prayer, more than a duty, is a gift from God.

It is a weapon that helps us to

  • Make important decisions
  • Rebuke demons
  • Gain strength in the face of temptation
  • Intercede for our neighbour
  • Strengthen others spiritually

God does not require us to cry out to Him in His Word (Jeremiah 33:3).

He also promises that our prayers will not be in vain (Romans 8:26-27).

Not only that, but if we ask according to His will, He will grant us everything (1 John 5:14-15).

Give God first place

When we put God first in our lives, everything runs smoothly.

We need to include God in everything we do.

From the moment we wake up in the morning. If you want to know the morning prayer that will make your day go well, click on this link.

We have important plans and projects to accomplish, but we must involve Him first.

The Bible says in Proverbs 19:21 that “man’s plans are many, but God’s purpose prevails”.

This means that you must commit yourself to God every morning.

Whatever you decide to do, ask the Holy Spirit to guide you.

Although God watches over all of us, remember that He deals with each of us individually.

Living the Gospel

You don’t have to go around saying you’re an evangelical.

Let your witness speak for you.

The best way to preach is through your testimony!

Our actions should confirm by deeds what we profess.

When a person sees your friendly and warm demeanour

If he notices that you are not despondent about the situation the country is going through

That person will miss you at first, but then he or she will want to know why you are the way you are.

And that is the moment you will use to tell them your secret.

Which is none other than that you have God in your life and in your heart!

This is preaching with testimony, and it is also one of the commandments of the Church.

Read the story of the first Christians who walked with Jesus on this link.

They were recognised by their behaviour.

Their witness identified them as Christians.

This is the attitude we Christians should have today.

Let our witness be our best preaching.
