The origin of these thirty prayers seems to have come from a teaching in a pamphlet written by J. Santillana in Buenos Aires, Argentina. In the text he stated that praying to St Joseph for 30 days was the best way to worship him. He also explained that the 30 days represent the 30 years that the saint lived with his son Jesus and the Virgin Mary.
Praying to St Joseph for 30 days can help the speaker to solve the most difficult problems. According to specialised theologians, this prayer can be the most complete and effective when it comes to invocation.
Santillana argues in the booklet that these invocations are not superstitious. Rather, they are used to ask for something urgent or even impossible. The only condition for this prayer is to pray it for 30 consecutive days in order to obtain the divine mediation of the great Saint Joseph. There are three known versions of the 30-day prayer to St Joseph: the community version, the personal version and the modern version. The latter version is presented here:
