The life of Saint Vincent de Paul

From this man we can deduce that he lived a life of encounters with the Lord, like St. Clare of Assisi, which made him reflect and also convert his personality from that of a shepherd who helped his parents with the sheep and pigs, to become the founder of famous congregations such as the Daughters of Charity, for the glory and honour of God the Father and the Church.

St Vincent de Paul was born in Dax, Spain, his parents were peasants and of very limited means, in fact he had to devote himself to shepherding to help his parents with the support of his siblings, he was the third of a total of six siblings. Since he was a child it was noticed that he had a great capacity for learning, and so it was decided to send him to study in Zaragoza, and it turned out to be of great benefit, because at the age of 20 this man was already a priest, knowing that this was a very early age for this ministry.

Frases de San Vicente de Paúl

He always helped Maria Luisa, who was also a saint, with whom he decided to found the Congregation of the Daughters of Charity, and he also founded another Congregation to take care of the rural people who would be the priests of the mission. She always had a great concern for the formation of apostles of the Gospel.

St Vincent de Paul was a man who was always calm in everything, he never had any difficulty in being a great friend of the most needy and also of those of high social class, he was always a great friend and confidant of St Francis de Sales, a person from whom he learnt a lot, as also, for example, of St John Bosco.

This was a man who, in spite of his humility and his shortcomings, was always ready to serve God and the most needy, whose heart was transformed by the touch of the Lord and who honoured Him with his actions until the day of his death, who always had positive thoughts, and so we will mention here some phrases of St Vincent de Paul.
